Hughes Wave Motion Machines LLC is, Philadelphia area based small business founded in 2009 and the world's #1 specialist in the design and fabrication of aesthetic and therapeutic ocean wave displays for the Decor, Entertainment, and Holistic Healthcare markets.  All products and services are the result of almost 10 years of research, design, and engineering to produce a bespoke, visually stunning, yet relaxation-inducing artistic representation of the ebb and flow of the sea.

You can also purchase high quality machined cast acrylic replacement vessels, which feature the patent-pending Hughes Wave Fluid Formula, for all vintage 16"-30" Lava Lite or Lava Simplex brand "The Wave" Machines, the Discovery Store Tranquil Tide Machine, and Wave F/X machines. Also offered are the hand-operated 18" Hughes WaveCell and 12" WaveTube sensory devices. The WaveTube was initially developed for children on the Autism spectrum and behavioral therapists, but it turns out it is a hit with adults as well for it's therapeutic and engaging properties.  

Lastly, in house services, from new motors to new fluids, and customization, such as base/fluid color changes and custom vessel configurations, are available by special request for all vintage Lava Lite and Lava Simplex brand machines. All products are proudly built to order in the United States. 

Hughes Wave Motion Machines products and services have been featured on a variety of platforms. Most recently, a major project overseas has been underway for the better part of a year. More to come on this as completion and installation of this massive undertaking nears. Expect to see write-ups about this installation spanning the Tech & Art spheres this summer.  HWMM work is showcased in the HBO series "In Treatment" Season 4 in the form of a custom Sunset Orange "Model One" Wave Motion Machine.   HWMM supplied singers Sam Smith and Normani with a Hughes "Model One" Wave Motion Machine for the 2019 hit music video "Dancing With a Stranger", spearheaded a creative project alongside a Los Angeles engineering firm to produce a 10-foot long wave machine for Katy Perry and contemporary artist Alex Israel, supplied the proprietary Hughes Wave Fluid Formula for use in the custom acrylic guitar owned by guitarists John 5 of Rob Zombie and Kirk Hammet of Metallica fame, designed and manufactured one-off props for the Hip-Hop artists Drake and Future for use in a massive 4K concert stage video backdrop, and supported numerous television and film industry Art Directors and Set Designers including the Italian reboot of the HBO series "In Treatment" as well as Mercedes-Benz and Estee Lauder commercials.  HWMM restoration work has also been featured in the "Capri" museum installation by renown artist Hiam Steinbach for display in La Galeria Rumma and Museo Madre in Italy.   Please visit the  YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram from the site homepage to view some of these projects.
